How can I remove the letter spacing in the gnome terminal?

cn flag

My gnome-terminal is adding a pixel of letter spacing that is breaking the background color in my prompt. The terminal works normally inside vscode, which has an option to set 0 letter spacing.

The image below shows the vscode terminal at the top and the gnome-terminal in the bottom:

How can I remove this pixel?

I already tried changing the font family, font size and cell spacing (that is limited to a minimum of 1.0).

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
