Odd Text Flashing in Restart and Shutdown Menu List

in flag

I noticed the other day when I moved my mouse to the area to shut down or restart the computer the text (Shutdown, Restart) in the menu list flashes on and off making it impossible to select anything in the menu list.

The only way I could get the computer to turn off was to physically press the shutdown or restart button on my tower. Has anyone else experienced this odd behaviour? I wonder if it has to do something with the kernel and with my hardware.

I am running the 11th gen Intel Core i5 on an MSI Tomahawk motherboard. My BIOS is up-to-date and so is Ubuntu and any software I am running.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
