Automatically lock screen after automatic login on Ubuntu 20.04

cn flag

I am using Anydesk on Ubuntu 20.04 and it will not let me connect before loggin in with the error "Remote display server is not supported (e.g. Wayland)". This happened when I switched from a NVIDIA driver do the XOrg driver.

Since I could not solve this issue, I decided to let the computer login automatically. However, I would like to have some protection and would like to lock the screen right after login.

For this, I followed the instructions in: Automated login and screen lock

I created a file called screen_lock.desktop on /home/USERNAME/.config/autostart and placed the code:

[Desktop Entry]
Type=Application
Name=Lock Screensaver
Exec=gnome-screensaver-command -l

However, this does not show the lock screen image. Only a window for me to introduce the password.

Since the above post is from 2012, is there a better way to do this?

Best Regards

So, I solved the first problem of "Remote display server is not supported (e.g. Wayland) by going into /etc/gdm3/custom.conf and uncommenting `#WaylandEnable=false`...

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
