Wifi connection worked initially

de flag

I installed lubuntu 20.04, and was able to connect to the Internet allowing me to download a full upgrade according to the system and was able to download an installer for google chrome. It asked to be rebooted before installing chrome. Upon restarting, the device could see all available wifi connections in the house, but when choosing to connect, it said the connection was lost. I use a generic WiFi dongle on the HP desktop.

I cannot seem to connect to the wifi even if i manually add connectioss from different access points.

Any suggestions to restore the connection which does work for all other connected devices?

Thanks

There is no 20.x release so please clarify. Ubuntu uses *year.month* formats so choices will be 20.04 or 20.10, and problems can be expected for 20.10 as it's now EOL. To troubleshoot wifi your release is needed (if using a LTS release we may need kernel stack as well; chosen by media used to install). Did you follow any of https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/WirelessTroubleShootingGuide as the device recognition details are likely key to fixes and providing us with specifics on your wifi chipset is helpful.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
