Nautilus - Access to remote computers via 2FA

no flag

I have two Linux Computers. Both accounts on both machines (lightdm & ssh) are secured with google-authenticator.

The problem now is, if I would like to connect with Nautilus -> Other Locations -> Connect to Server = ssh://hostname, then I entered the password and hit enter. It takes seconds then I get all the time the error message: "Unable to acces location. Timed out when logging in."

With ssh I can connect without problems to the remote computer. I'll be asked to type in the Verification code.

Does any body have an solution for the problem?

Thank you in advance, Laszlo

Do you use password or public/private keys as the first factor of authentication for `ssh`? I don't have 2FA enabled for `ssh`. So I can't help, but here is an idea: try `sfrp://hostname` instead of `ssh://hostname`. It may be possible to allow separate authenticaion methods for `sftp` and `ssh`, but I am not sure.

Thanks. I only use a local password with `google-authenticator`. If I use `sftp://hostname` or `ssh://hostname` I'm getting all the time the same error: _"Unable to acces location. Timed out when logging in."_

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
