image magick cannot update properly (double boot win 10/ubuntu)

cn flag

I have a similar problem on double - boot windows 10 / Ubuntu (originally windows 7/windows 10 / ubuntu...
I started to get notices in the log that Image Magick was in a 'bad confiiguration state' so I used apt-remove to remove it... The icon was removed, so I assume so was the software, but now there seems to be glitch in auto updates (which may be looking for the original image magick I had just removed).. Maybe re-downloading and re-installing image magick might work? (I like the program, if configuration issues can be worked out...)

UPDATE: - I just looked up some background on the issue:

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
