How to upgrade Apache 2.2 using source install from apache.org

ng flag

I am a newbie in source install on linux and Ubuntu. I have an urgent requirement where I need to have apache 2.4.48 on Ubuntu 18.04 where as by default it supports only 2.4.29. So I tried downloading the source tar ball from apache.org and install it. It got installed after some trial and errors. Now how do I disable the existing apache2 and make this newly installed apache2 to be used from now onwards? Please let me know. I couldn't get any solution on Google. Please help this is urgent.

I got to know that using ppa we can upgrade to Apache 2.4.3x using ondrej:ppa. But server in question is offline server. How to get packages from ppa like ondrej so that all dependencies are met. Kindly help

Thanks for the quick response. A single answerable question is in the heading itself. All I want is to upgrade an existing apache 2.4.29 with all installed modules like mod rewrite mod proxy etc on Ubuntu 18.04 using source install or compile install mechanism. I just want to know how to do that.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
