copy from my post on reddit.

virtualbox version: 6.1.26 host: windows 10 guest: ubuntu 20.04 lts

hi, my vm changed to small screen size and not full, i did not change anything. this is the second time this happen and i have no idea why. few hours ago i could change to full-screen from view but now even this not working and i didnt change anything. i cant find the steps i did last time to fix this (last time i had another problem so i dont think this will work now) and anyway i want to fix this permanently.

i tried few stuff that did not help: change vram to 128mb, enable 3d, many codes in terminal that i dont remember, eject from vm or unmount from virtualbox, i tried to update virtualbox and install the last guestaddition but when i install the previous version uninstall fail and i get this (required file filelist not found) but i still have the disk icon on task bar. i tried few codes to remove this manually but i get the same error.

edit: i changed the graphics controller to VBoxVGA and i have full screen (sometimes i need to change to full screen from the view options) but from what i read VMSVGA is better for linux and i still cant copy paste from host to vm or vice versa.

i hope someone here can help or i have to backup and delete this vm and install older version of ubuntu because i dont have this problem in my older version (the older have another problem so i decided to try the new one).

Here is how to see if guest additions are loaded: https://askubuntu.com/questions/169024/how-can-i-tell-if-the-virtualbox-guest-additions-were-installed-on-an-ubuntu-vm. If not they should be mounted **and installed** to resolve your issue.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
