Looking for help on this issue.
Ubuntu is loaded as dual boot with Windows 10. It looks like it is hanging up at "Starting Snap Daemon". I have a photo of the screen where it hangs up, but don't see anywhere to attach it.
My user sent me the information below. Any ideas? Thanks!
I went in to add a user account on the Ubuntu side. After that was done, I went in to the terminal to run “sudo-apt get update” and “sudo-apt get-upgrade.” I did see a notification that something didn’t install properly, but it was rolling by too fast on the terminal for me to document it. After updates and upgrades were complete, I logged out and the other user tried to log in. He opened his user and, since it was his first time logging in, he was asked to provide a password. He did so. Then he tried to log-in and was unable to do so. I tried to log in and was unable to do so. At that point, I assumed it was something to do with the updates/upgrades, so I restarted so they could take effect. Since then, every time I re-start, it will eventually go through a string of text with green “ok” (in brackets) at the start of each line, but won’t proceed to the log-in screen.
I’ve tried selecting “Advanced Options” during the boot sequence. From there I’ve done the following:
Repair broken packages —> “An upgrade from ‘bionic’ to ‘focal’ is not supported with this tool”
Update grub boot loader
Resume normal boot
When I go to normal boot, it eventually gives me a with the bracketed OKs, never proceeding to the log-in screen.
