I recently faced an ethernet issue where I was stuck on a "wired connecting" loop, I was able to fix it, but now am unable to use gigabit ethernet. I know that it is supported by the cable and the system, as I was able to use it before and even in output of sudo ethtool enp1s0, it shows

`Supported link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full
                         100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full
                         1000baseT/Full
Supported pause frame use: Symmetric Receive-only
Supports auto-negotiation: Yes
Supported FEC modes: Not reported
Advertised link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full
                        100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full
                        1000baseT/Full
Advertised pause frame use: Symmetric Receive-only
Advertised auto-negotiation: Yes
Advertised FEC modes: Not reported
Link partner advertised link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full
                                     100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full
                                     1000baseT/Full`

Not sure what to do, I purged and reinstalled r8168 dkms as well but no luck. In nm-connection-editor, when i change to speed 1000 and full duplex, as well as manual and auto negotiation, nothing happens, shows "connected-100mbps"

Welcome to AskUbuntu! Can you please [edit](https://askubuntu.com/posts/1361716/edit) and add the full output of `ethtool` to the output there? At least 4 lines down from where you stop is where the actual speed it shown for what it is connected at. You may also want to try https://askubuntu.com/a/1359858/231142 But have you tried another cable as well just to make sure it is not the cable causing the issue?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
