Screen Orientation

de flag

I am new to Ubuntu. I have a spare Asus laptop, model Q552U with an intel i7 and an NVidia 940m. It has a touchscreen and the ability to flip the screen to the back of the laptop to be used as a tablet.

I currently cannot get the screen orientation right. It's rotated 90degrees to the right, so putting the laptop on its left side makes the screen orient to how it normally should in relation to the keyboard.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

I've tried installing iio-sensor-proxy. That doesn't seem to have done much. If I can't fix it, how can I permanently set the orientation of the screen other than the rotation lock?

I've already spent two hours trying to google solutions and haven't had much luck.

“[H]ow can I permanently set the orientation of the screen other than rotation lock?” ⇢ What’s wrong with rotation lock? Are you not able to set the preferred orientation in the display settings?

No matigo, there is no orientation option in the settings. The issue with rotation lock is that on startup the screen is rotated until I log into the system.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
