Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS black screen with a flashing cursor during reboot

gr flag

I'm trying to configure a Dell XPS 15 9500 laptops. It came with Windows 10 and I removed it and put Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS on it.

I did the installation and removed Windows during the process, everything seems to work fine, and I got to the Ubuntu desktop.

During the installation I was told that I had to turn off RST in the BIOS and switch to ACHI, which I did: Also, I turned OFF Secure Boot.

After that, everything seemed to install fine, and Ubuntu was up and running. Now the issue is that when I connect the charger and reboot / Power ON the laptop, the Dell logo appears, but then it just goes to a black screen with a flashing cursor at the top left. It stays that way forever. Also, I tried able to install the available updates, but the error persists. No issues found without connecting the charger I'm able to boot successfully. The charger I'm using is the original one shipped with the laptop.

I did hardware check and all the tests passed. Laptop was running fine when I had Windows 10 on it.

please [edit] your question to clarify the version of ubuntu in use. Your title says 20.04.3 but you have tagged 14.04

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
