Ubuntu products using the *year* format are *snap* only, and thus Ubuntu Core 20 uses the exact same snap packages as Ubuntu Core 18 does & did. So there would be no differences between a 18 system upgrading to 20; only the base OS changes. 18 & 20 are different systems to the 18.04 & 20.04 systems as *deb* packages differ between releases. Your question as written makes no sense given no application changes in a Ubuntu Core 18 upgrade to Ubuntu Core 20

When I want to open a document, and I click on the Files icon in the quick-launch bar, the window only opens for a second and then closes again.

A corruption in one of the mounted partitions is very likely.

When I click on the 'Files' icon in the quick launch bar, the window only opens for a few seconds and the closes again. So I can't access my directories.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
