Ubuntu 20.04 hangs when clicking suspend

id flag

When I click the suspend button on the top right of the desktop, the screen goes black for a few seconds and wakes up again on the user login screen, except now the keyboard and mouse don't work. It looks almost exactly like what clicking log out does, except the computer becomes unresponsive and requires a hard reboot.

I believe suspend used to work on this computer, but I think it stopped working around the time I started messing with Nvidia drivers (trying to get a new 4k 120Hz display working), but suspend still hangs the computer regardless of using the Nouveau driver or the various Nvidia proprietary ones.

I found references to "suspend" in /var/log/syslog, and this part of the file seems relevant, but I don't know what normal logs look like: https://pastebin.com/dCGGvu9M

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
