Cryptswap1 prevents boot

jp flag

My booting is stuck at this line: "A start job is running for /dev/mapper/cryptswap1"

There are several posts about this, but none of them seem to work. For example, this one reports the problem disappears after upgrading to Ubuntu 20.04: askubuntu.com/questions/1208549/booting-stuck-at-a-start-job-is-running-for-dev-mapper-cryptswap1

I could disable cryptswap, like this: How to disable cryptswap?

But that post is more than 10 years old, and several people report that it freezes the machine permanently, for example this: https://www.reddit.com/r/linuxquestions/comments/c6aibb/need_help_asap_i_tried_removing_cryptswap_and_now/es7elff/

My "solution" so far is to run theese 3 commands after every boot: sudo swapoff -a sudo update-initramfs -c -k all sudo swapon -a

But it still freezes about every second time I boot.

I'll be happy to remove my swap completely, if this is the easiest way - but I don't know how to do that.

I use Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS, 64-bit, Gnome version 3.36.8.

Help much appreciated. I am absolutely NO EXPERT, so I ask for simple explanations like exactly what to write in terminal.

Thanks in advance!

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
