Wifi adapter not found on fresh 20.04 install. (Realtek Device a85a)

ni flag

I am experiencing pretty run of the mill wifi connectivity issues on Ubuntu 20.04 installation. I've read and tried many solutions, but none have worked so far.

I am using a brand new HP 15-dy3008ca Laptop.

In settings, I have to manually search for the wifi settings because they don't appear automatically. The page reads "No Wi-Fi Adapter Found. Make sure you have a Wi-Fi adapter plugged in and turned on".

Both wired ethernet and tethering have provided a stable connection.

running lspci yields the following for the Network controller:

01:00.0 Network controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. Device a85a

running sudo lshw -C network yields the following:

*-network UNCLAIMED

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
