SSH -L tunnel data security

pt flag

I am connecting to a remote computer with:

  1. making a tunnel
ssh -L 1234:X.X.X.X:22 [email protected]

ssh -X -p 1234 user@localhost

I can now access machine. The question is, Can someone from remote machine access my local data ? how safe is it ? I am new to ubuntu.

This has not a lot to do with the OS you use. ANY system connected to another system can have access. How difficult it is depends on your network quality, password quality and/or hardware/firmware exploits not patched, on servers you run. In principle Ubuntu's default IS secure. The rest is up to the admin.

Since there is no mention of Ubuntu being involved does this question belong here?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
