Making my cd-rom visible UBuntu 20.04 LTS in VirtualBox

I used "dmesg | grep ATAPI" to get the name of the CD drive (such as hda, hdb, hdc). Instead, the output of that command looks like this:

ata2.00: ATAPI: VBOX CD-ROM, 1.0, max UDMA/133

What is the appropriate incantation to allow mplayer, audacious, and others to play CDs? cdda://1 at the end of the mplayer command does not seem to work---the computer complains that cdda cannot be found, even though I have VirtualBox configured to use the host CD drive. I suspect that something other than cdda may be required to identify my drive; most other comments I've seen say that cdda is the appropriate thing to use if your CD drive is hda.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
