traceable guest system on encrypted laptop

lr flag

Somehow my brand new laptop with kubuntu 21.04. And i have installed a encrypted root LVM partition. But there is (yet) no way of getting it back when i loose it. I can make a sticker. But i want to over do it.

If i make a guest system with a low priority vpn connection I can access the laptop when its booted into this guest mode. can make it write changes to ram so that its really a guest mode.

Is there a way to boot a guest system. That can be started after the encryption password has not been entered for 90 seconds?

You seem to be asking a yes-or-no question. The answer is 'Yes'. There is a way. Consider editing your question to ask 'How'. It's not easy -- it involved re-partitioning, and then installing an entire unencrypted Ubuntu install, and then installing your phone-home software, and then editing your encryption timeout. Of course, an unencrypted system just made your stolen laptop *usable* for the thief, so there are tradeoffs.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
