Incorrect behaviour? Setting wireless connection IPv6 method to "Disable" doesn't disable IPv6

jp flag

Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS:

When I set "IPv6 Method" in the IPv6 settings tab of a wireless network to "Disable", I'm still seeing that the interface is getting an IPv6 address.

Setting IPv6 Method to "Disable"

ifconfig excerpt

As you can see, my WiFi interface wlp3s0 is still getting an IPv6 address

Is this behaviour correct?

Possibly irrelevant background info: I'm on an AirBNB WiFi that doesn't allow me to visit websites unless I open a VPN connection first. The Windows 10 laptop I brought does not have this issue and while troubleshooting my Ubuntu machine I thought I'd disable IPv6 in case that was the problem. That's when I noticed this behaviour.

-edit- I've verified that my WiFi issue involves IPv6 - I'm able to access only IPv6 websites (google.de for instance) but not IPv4 websites (amazon.de for instance). This also applies when "IPv6 Method" is set to disabled as described above.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
