Restricting a GUI user to perform only predefined actions on Ubuntu

sa flag

I am the admin of an Ubuntu machine, which I want to let a user "guest" login to via GUI. This user should be able to perform only certain actions (like view the contents of some files located on the desktop etc), and Shutdown / Reboot. Nothing else, like using the browser, email, edit their own files etc. How can this be done?

Thanks

Writing policykit files. With that framework, you define what user can do what.See `man polkit` for details.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
