Problem mapping windows drive

cn flag

A few days ago, I successfully mapped one of my Windows drives (D:) to ubuntu. To do this, I selected the following option from the title bar in VMware Workstation: VM/Settings. Then from the window that pops up, I changed to the Options tab, then selected "Shared Folders." On the right, I selected "Add..." then went through the wizard. I browsed for my host path and selected my drive "D:" and gave the name "D" to it. I kept the default options "Enable this share." Then pushed "Finish." This added a file in my director "/mnt/hgfs/D" which I could then use to access my files. It worked great.

Then I had a momentary power outage. After logging back in to ubuntu, the "/mnt/hgfs/D" file was gone. I went back to the above "Shared Folders" option and saw my D drive was still listed there. I tried re-adding the drive as another name "D-2" and that produced nothing in /mnt/hgfs. I tried deleting the previous D entry and adding it. I also tried the same to map my C drive without success.

Any ideas as to the cause of my problems?

Check drive for errors in the host OS (Windows), reboot and try again.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
