Change username on Ubuntu(usermod: user * is currently used by process *)

cn flag

I'm trying to change my username on Ubuntu WSL using this command:

sudo usermod -l NEWUSERNAME OLDUSERNAME

But I get a message:

usermod: user OLDUSERNAME is currently used by process 90

Running process(PID=90 in this case) is bash process so when I try to kill it whole WSL turns off.

Is there a way I can safely change username using usermod or some other command?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
