How to make my internal HDD bootable when booting from USB “try mode”

cm flag

I created a bootable Ubuntu USB drive and was able to successfully start up my computer. I can see the internal HDD and I was able to successfully format it in Ubuntu “try mode”

Now, Id like to make the internal HDD bootable and use Ubuntu full time with all features from here on out.

I have zero knowledge on Ubuntu and just want to learn about it and use it.

I cannot seem to find a command in any menu to make the formatted and unallocated space bootable.

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you planning on having a dual boot computer or just Ubuntu? And is there anything on the drive already that you want to keep?

UEFI or BIOS hardware?. If UEFI better to have drive gpt partitioned as Ubuntu will let you use MBR and probably should not. And if UEFI system, better to install in UEFI boot mode. http://askubuntu.com/questions/743095/how-to-prepare-a-disk-on-an-efi-based-pc-for-ubuntu Note if MBR, changing to gpt totally erases everything. I suggest larger / of 30 to 40GB and smaller swap of 2GB or none & it then creates a swap file of 2GB. Hi, not planning on having it dual boot. This system will just be running Ubuntu. Ive already formatted and deleted all so nothing is on the drive. As for UEFI, I have no clue.

I successfully(install message says so)installed Ubuntu onto the internal HDD. However, all that happens now is the system starts up and goes into an endless loop of rebooting. The message in the top left hand corner of the screen says ‘Reset System’

amazingly overly difficult process to simply load Ubuntu onto an internal HDD and make the damn thing bootable. Wow. Horrible user experience. Making a usable/bootable USB stick was easy enough. Then it becomes mission impossible to get the HDD bootable.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
