Welcome to Ask Ubuntu! I don't know the answer, but someone else might. One thing to know: `.bsah_profile` are both `.bashrc` for the `bash` shell. I don't know about `.profile`, but at least for the first two, they are not for `/bin/sh`.

There is no *default* initialization file for non-login dash shells, however you can define one of your choosing as described here [What is the dash equivalent for .bashrc?](https://askubuntu.com/questions/86139/what-is-the-dash-equivalent-for-bashrc)

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
