Which Ubuntu release/version? Was there any error message when installing the required packages? Where exactly ht error you mentioned comes up? Have you tried other devices as explicitly mentioned in the tutorial? Please edit the question accordingly.

Watch `sudo journalctl --follow` as you connect the camera to start diagnosing. Also look at `ls -ltr /dev`.

This camera is not even compatible with the official EOS Webcam Utility, from Canon for Windows and Mac.

The camera probably cannot be used as a webcam.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
