computer detect keyboard as numpad as default

An image of my keyboard

I'm using ubuntu 21.04 on my acer laptop with all software up-to-date. My laptop doesn't have a numpad. But when I hold down the function key, some keys will act as numpad(as is shown in the image).

My problem is that all of a sudden when I press those buttons, they will default act as numpad, but when I press them while holding the function key, they would act normally.(e.g. when I press u, it will show 4 and when I press u while holding fn key, it will show u.) The f1 - f12 button works normally as before. I have never encountered this problem and after I reboot into windows, every thing is fine. But reboot into ubuntu would still have this problem.

Just before I found out this problem I was watching youtube videos on chrome, then I used sevral shortcut(ctrl+t, several times of ctrl+tab, I was sure that I mis-pressed some other keys during the process), after that when I typed something in the search bar, this happened.

You enabled numlock by some key combination.

Thanks, @Pilot6 . I didn't know it was a thing because I never use numpad on my laptop.

As is commented by Pilot6, it's the numlock. On my keyboard fn + f12 will enable/disable it. (Though I have no idea how I accidentally pressed it.)

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
