Restoring a Home Directory Deleted With a User

iq flag

I tried to delete a user with

sudo deluser --remove-home 'username'

I am running ubuntu through the app on windows 10 so I changed the home directory of this user to a folder in windows. The user did not delete but the home directory did. I can not find it in my windows trash and cannot seem to find the ubuntu trash. The folder I deleted is still on my windows desktop but I cannot open it.

Thanks.

`deluser` does not move files to a trash bin. It does exactly what is promised and deletes the files completely. Mixing Windows home and Ubuntu home is unwise -- do not do that.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
