Automatic rotations are flipped when rotating left or right [20.04.3]

in flag

I've recently reinstalled Ubuntu on an old laptop to see if this issue was fixed in the latest version but it seems I'm still experiencing it. My laptop has a g sensor and when I turn it around it rotates the screen. I don't want to turn this off but whenever I rotate it to the left or right the screen is flipped 180 degrees from where it should normally be. A 180 turn flips the screen properly though. Is there any way to either calibrate the sensor or override the default rotations for it?

Here's a very bad ms paint drawing I made to try and describe the issue. If this doesn't make any sense I can try drawing another.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
