my headset microphone is not detected on ubuntu

The output is working fine but the input is not working. On settings, input device just shows Analog Input - built-in audio. I already used this headset and it worked on a windows PC. Can someone try to help me with this ?

This screenshot shows the output as "Headphones" but the input is "Analog input"

  • I tried this below after research and it didn't work either:

  • Edit etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf file using root user. e.g subl etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf

  • Add this line in above file

    options snd-hda-intel model=,dell-headset-multi

Please take the [tour] while you wait for feedback/support. You may like to [edit] your question to remove the unneeded "how can I solve this?" from your title (it is implied that you are seeking help with this issue). You might also like to refine the formatting in your body -- you can wrap `code` in back ticks to distinguish code from non-code text. A space after a dash at the start of a line will create a bulletpoint; no space after the dash will not trigger a bulletpoint.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
