French AZERTY keyboard issue while setting up a VM with Ubuntu server

es flag

I am new to Linux and, for my studies, I have to train on Ubuntu Server. I have a small problem when choosing the keyboard. I am selecting the French AZERTY keyboard but, when I go to configure the rest of the installation (name of the server, MDP ...), the M key becomes a ;. Some other keys also have this problem.

Which keyboard should I choose to no longer have this problem?

I have an XPS 13 7390.

I create my VMs on vmware workstation pro 16.2.1

Thanks in advance.

Original Question:

Bonjour,

Merci d'avance.

Because this is a VM, you should be able to keep the standard QWERTY keyboard configuration. VMware is doing the key binding translation already, so setting it to another layout may result in a “double-correction” issue.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
