Make spotifyd work

jp flag

I followed this guide: https://spotifyd.github.io/spotifyd/installation/Ubuntu.html

To install the spotifyd so i can get Spotify TUI to work, but the last command does absolutely nothing when i type it into the terminal. I'm not sure what i did wrong and can't make a lot of sense out of their website.

Any help would be appreciated.

There was also someone with the same issue saying that he "I got it working! I think what finally solved it was putting the spotifyd binary into ~/.cargo/bin/" but i can't make out what he did.

Edit: I've been reading the comments. The issue is that spotify TUI works just fine, but it can't find the playback device. Ergo spotifyd is needed, but i can't figure out how to run it.

AFAIK, you can just install the Snap (`snap install spt`) and then use Spotify TUI. With that, you don't have to deal with any dependencies yourself. Would that work for you?

Indeed. The Snap runs just fine. No need to run anything as a daemon …

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
