Ubuntu Studio Controls not recognizing my usb interface

pg flag

I've been using ubuntu studio with my focusrite scarlet 2i2 (1st gen) with no issues for some time until I installed it in my new PC. Here I found out Studio controls won't start the jack server.

The interface is recognized by ubuntu as show by lsusb:

zen@multivac:~$ lsusb
Bus 006 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub
Bus 005 Device 002: ID 1235:8006 Focusrite-Novation Focusrite Scarlett 2i2
Bus 005 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub
Bus 001 Device 005: ID 062a:4180 MosArt Semiconductor Corp. 2.4G INPUT DEVICE
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0603:00f7 Novatek Microelectronics Corp. Gaming Keyboard
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 048d:5702 Integrated Technology Express, Inc. ITE Device

In ubuntu studio controls I can select the card, but curiously the name is not shown:

Studio control screen capture

If i hit Start nothing happens, this is the console oputput after opening it up and hitting start jack:

zen@multivac:~$ studio-controls
install path: /usr
Config file: /home/zen/.config/autojack/autojack.json
initialization complete
Starting Autojack...

I tried with qjackctl, the interface is recognized and I can start the server with no issues. Still I much rather use the Studio Controls, I tried googling for this issue with no luck, any ideas?

Thanks!

Do you have `pulseaudio-module-jack` installed and enabled? See [here](https://dragly.org/2014/01/12/focusrite-scarlett-2i2-flawlessly-working-on-ubuntu-with-jack/). Not the exact same issue, but close enough that you may get lucky. Otherwise, count your blessings. My wrists are currently resting on a 16 in - 16 out Tascam us-1641 _laptop stand_ that used to be an audio interface, until I switched to Linux and discovered that it never got a driver. 8^( Mine shows on `lsusb` as well. It doesnt need a driver for that. That is actually how you would get the info needed to make one.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
