How to make apps not appear on my navigation bar

ng flag

I want to open firefox on ubuntu but I also want it not to show that it's open on the toolbar, even though it is open in the background. Is there any kind of setting that would allow me to open the applications in secret rather than it appearing as opened on the toolbar/navigation bar/application bar

Hi, what is your Operating System? what is the Desktop Environment?

There is a hidden setting that allows to not show running applications, but it is an all or nothing setting: either any running application is shown or none. Anyway, indeed you need to clarify your specific Ubuntu version and desktop environment first.

@vanadium I have the latest ubuntu version but i don't know how to check the environment of my os. It basically looks like how ubuntu would look like right after you install it I have changed nothing in the appearance setting. The app bar shows on the left side of the screen vertically

Go to "Settings", "About" tab for info on your system. Likely standard Ubuntu, either 20.04 or 21.10.

Add that information to the question: use "edit".

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
