Only allow Minecraft Server through Hamachi

us flag

I have a home server running multiple services. I have a minecraft server on a docker container on port 25565, but i don't want the other services to be accessible through Hamachi.

How can i do such a thing?

I can't find anyone on the internet doing such a thing.

Apologies for my ignorance, but what is "Hamachi"? As for the rest of your question, the Uncomplicated Firewall (a.k.a. `ufw`) makes this possible ...

No problem, Hamachi is a tunneling software that makes hosting a service easy for friends.

Looks like [the answer is no](https://askubuntu.com/a/701168/1222991). Hamachi will bypass a lot of the security mechanisms in Ubuntu ... which makes it a rather risky thing to use

Well, thats a bummer, is there a way to only passthrough certain traffic to a network adapter??‍♂️

I know how networking works, what i dont know is how hamachi bypasses any firewall and if there's an option out there. I can't figure out more about this because my router doesn't have accessible firewall settings and/or port forwarding.

Oh, that's critical information that should be in your question above! As somebody who knows how networks work, you already know that VPN clients (like Hamachi) do not "bypass" any firewalls - that would be a big security hole! Look at your Docker container -- see if you can install your VPN client *inside* the container, so guests cannot see or access services outside the container.

@user535733 I only said that hamachi "bypasses" firewalls because a firewall like ufw has no effect on it. (Based on [this](https://askubuntu.com/a/701168/1222991)) Also, it's gonna be pretty hard to do that. Im going to ask the docker image developers if that is possible.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
