How to fix error libpcre2-posix3 (21.4) in Kali Linux

ar flag

error libpcre2-posix3

I tried sudo apt upgrade but with an error like that, I try to fix it with a install -f, dpkg --configure -a, autoremove still shows up with an error of libpcre2-posix3. I am trying to remove and appear unable to remove because the application has not been installed. Is there a solution?

Ubuntu 22.04 doesn't yet exist; it's currently the *development* release Ubuntu *jammy* and remains that until it reaches RC state which isn't expected until after 14 April 2022, and isn't on-topic here until release on 21 April 2022. https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/jammy-jellyfish-release-schedule/23906 Please refer https://askubuntu.com/help/on-topic. For support issues with Ubuntu *jammy* you'll need to use a #ubuntu-next or #ubuntu+1 site (IRC, UF etc) `libpcre2-posix3 | 10.39-3 | jammy | amd64, arm64, armhf, i386, ppc64el, riscv64, s390x`

*You didn't provide release details; but your package provided in error message matches only off-topic jammy in Ubuntu repositories*

If you're using 21.04; why the 22.04 package? Can you please provide `apt-cache policy libpcre2-posix3` so we can see the source (*unmet dependencies are usually expected when using packages intended for another release*)

Kali Linux is **not** Ubuntu & sources will not align, and the other source there is *impish* (21.10), neither being *hirsute* or 21.04 as you state is your release. In both cases I'd explore your system to see what you're actually running, as whilst 21.04 is in it's last days of support, you're likely not even running that anymore given your last paste & sources. Adding inappropriate sources is your issue (added by a user with `sudo` rights), restore data from before then, or revert changes (inc. package changes) manually.

it's been solved, before I installed katoolin and added the `http.kali.org` repository, after I commented and finally it was able to be upgraded. Thank you @guiverc

Please still check what you're running; it's likely your sources have made (unless you added *pinning* to prevent damage) your system a non-Ubuntu one. You can use `ubuntu-security-status` & like tools, but you'll likely find you've set *minetraps* for yourself you'll discover come *release-upgrade* time or in the future... [Ubuntu 21.04 reaches EOL on 20-Jan-2022](https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-announce/2021-December/000275.html) so that maybe rather soon...

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
