Migrating from Windows10 to Ubuntu Studio has been very challenging from the start. I do not trust Microsoft nor Google, so I decided to migrate my online computing life to other platforms so I can have more control (within reason of course).

I have tried installing Ubuntu studio three times. The first thing I want to note is that I am unable to shutdown or restart the machine without it showing an error and quitting execution all together forcing me to due a hard reset. Sometimes it barely boots up at all. Also today a attempted to do an update in the terminal and the updates application, both give errors saying:

N: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default.

Also sometimes Firefox doesn't work at all.

My question is, is the aforementioned an intermittent issue or what is going on. Thank you I just want to get my system running and stable please help.

Thank you very kindly :-)

Welcome to Ask Ubuntu! As it is currently written your question includes more than one problem. Please [edit] your question to make the question more clear and focused. Also [edit] to include the output of `lsb_release -a` so that we can know on which version of Ubuntu you are on. Please post the output of `cat /etc/apt/sources.list` so that we can know what repositories you're using. Also include the output of `free -h` so that we can know about your ram and memory. Thanks.

Could you also [edit] your question to include: (0) the version of Ubuntu Studio you're installing, (1) the model of your Acer computer (2) some hardware specifications (CPU/RAM/etc.). With this, it may be possible to explain some of the challenges you've faced.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
