Ubuntu 21.04 - Unmet Dependencies

cn flag

just upgraded to Ubuntu 21.04, started to having some issues which is all related i guess.

First issue - cannot upgrade the following packages

gdb/hirsute 10.1-2ubuntu2 amd64 [upgradable from: 9.2-0ubuntu1~20.04]
libpeas-1.0-0/hirsute 1.30.0-1 amd64 [upgradable from: 1.26.0-2]

Second issue : When I am trying to upgrade the above packages the following error is coming

libpython3.9 : Depends: libpython3.9-stdlib (= 3.9.5-3ubuntu0~21.04.1) but 3.9.9-1+focal2 is to be installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

Third issue - Display settings,Change background also cannot upgrade to 21.10 possible because of the unmet dependencies. I have tried few commands, nothing seems to working.

For example :

sudo apt install gnome-control-center
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
 libpython3.9 : Depends: libpython3.9-stdlib (= 3.9.5-3ubuntu0~21.04.1) but 3.9.9-1+focal2 is to be installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

Thanks in advance for the help.

You have `gdb 9.2-0ubuntu1~20.04` installed in your system, which is from Ubuntu 20.04. How did you upgrade from 20.04 to 21.04? In case you somehow skipped the intermediate 20.10 while upgrading, I suggest you to fresh install 21.10, as 21.04 is going to become unsupported in a week.

Can you run `sudo apt update` and try upgrading again?

Look at this question: [Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages](https://askubuntu.com/questions/223237/unable-to-correct-problems-you-have-held-broken-packages) It explains possible ways to fix this issue.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
