Wake On LAN only works when shutting down as root

gf flag

When running systemctl poweroff WOL does not work. Same for systemctl suspend, systemctl hibernate, etc. Running sudo systemctl poweroff etc. results in WOL working properly.

Also after stopping the machine without sudo Wake-on is set to d instead of g.

So the problem is that Wake-on is only set to g when stopping the machine as root. Why is that?

WOL is btw configured through NetworkManager.

I'm running Ubuntu 21.10.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
