Error with tomcat: java.io.FileNotFoundException: /usr/local/tomcat/logs/host-manager.2022-01-20.log (Permission denied)

ru flag

We are trying to run a program (Mainzelliste) on Ubuntu 20.04 through docker. We have installed apache-tomcat from here, which is necessary to run the program. We get the message that tomcat is working as reported in the article. However, when running docker-compose up to run Mainzelliste, this is one of the errors in the terminal output:

mainzelliste_1 | java.util.logging.ErrorManager: 4
mainzelliste_1 | java.io.FileNotFoundException: /usr/local/tomcat/logs/host-manager.2022-01-20.log (Permission denied)

We checked the path /usr/local/ and tomcat is not located there, rather in /etc/tomcat9.

Has anyone encountered this problem (and a solution)?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
