Running a shfile

fr flag

I just started using linux and followed a tutorial on how to use ROOT from CERN by using UBUNTU LTS. I followed on how to install it and I understand that to access ROOT I have to type the following commands:

. root-6/24.06-install/bin/thisroot.sh

root

I know that is an sh file but whenever I google about this it tells me in order to run a sh file I have to do ./file.sh however what I typed above works when I do it. After doing some research on how I installed it, I used the commands tar xzfv does this allow me to just use . file isntead of having to use ./file?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
