How can I find out the cause of a flickering display?

gb flag

it may have been a coincidence, but after a recent upgrade I noticed that my display started to flicker (How do I revert the last installed updates?). In accordance with the advice I received for my previous question, I am now looking for the root of the problem.

When does this occur? It occurs when I am away from my laptop for a while or I close the lid. So, the lock screen appears and sometimes (not always) the flickering. It is like one flicker per second or so. I have found out that the flickering goes away when I completely log out or when I go to settings -> displays -> and there I change to another display resolution. Then the flickerings stops immediately. So, I choose another resolution and revert to the old resolution afterwards. Then, everything is okay. Still, this flickering is annoying, as it occurs multiple times a day.

How can I narrow down the root of the problem?

I humbly want to refresh this and ask if there is anything I can do to get rid of that flickering.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
