Can you disable backlight Ubuntu 20.04

in flag

My laptop, Dell XPS 9570, is running Ubuntu 20.04 and the battery life is terrible. The readings from powertop show I have a discharge rate of over 40W with Device Backlight using 12W even when turned off. I want to know if there is a way to completely disable backlight on the computer since turning it off does not stop the power consumption. I have looked for various ways of disabling devices and even looked through /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight for a while trying to see if I could disable it myself but I don't have a crazy amount of experience to be touching system files just yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Turning off the backlight would make the display completely unreadable. Are you using an external monitor with the notebook?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
