Accidentally deleted some files in /var - WSL2

ph flag

I was trying to deleted some files in another directory called var and ended up deleting some files in my /var. I’m not sure which files.

I have not experienced any issues yet. Should I reinstall Ubuntu? I’ve been able to back up my files. Is there an uninstaller?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

yes reinstall but use the mount method for /. That will overwrite and append missing system files and leave configured files as those are now.

And don't work as `root` if it's not absolutely necessary. This will prevent you from accidentally removing system files.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
