Why is my VirtualBox/Ubuntu not receiving internet?

ke flag

So I'm using a VirtualBox to run ubuntu. So long story short I can't connect to the internet for some reason. But in my main OS, it is perfectly fine and the internet is working. I tried setting my network to NAT and the Bridged Adapter which is my ethernet but nothing is working.

I see the "hollow slice of pie" icon in the Xubuntu VM. Assuming networking is enabled there, what does the connection information box show in the VM?

Have you rebooted your system or logged out and back in since you installed VirtualBox? There are some group settings that allow you to use the hardware on your system that need to take effect.

What version of VirtualBox are you using? Did you install from the Ubuntu sources? You might want to try installing from VirtualBox themselves. https://askubuntu.com/a/1305883/231142 Also, make sure to install the Extension Pack in your host OS (if you have not already) https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
