Stuck on GNU GRUB 2.04 UBUNTU 18.04.6

ru flag

My dell laptop only has ubuntu installed, I bought it already installed no dual boot whatsoever (most solutions I have found are for people with dual boot). Occasionally I would get stuck on GNU GRUB for a few hours after turning on my laptop. At first I thought that what caused it is turning off the laptop with earphones plugged in but lately this has been happening even if I unplug them before turning it off. The GNU menu gives me four options:

  • ubuntu
  • advanced options for ubuntu
  • system setup
  • restore OS to factory state

When I select "ubuntu" option it gives me an error message "you need to load the kernel first", same thing for the "Advanced options for ubuntu" I'm willing to provide more information about it I just don't know exactly what to provide so please let me know which you might need.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
