USB device is getting power but not getting detected by system

br flag

I am connecting a FTDI device via USB. The device is getting powered on but there are no change in logs in dmesg or /var/log/syslog during connecting or disconnecting. Please suggest how can I fix this.

I have installed the necessary drivers but I think thats of no use when the device isn't detected in first place.

First what version of Ubuntu? Second it sounds like the ports are not supplying enough power for the device.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
