Can we tell a program to always put the window in the same place?

Is there a way to have Ubuntu remember where I put a particular program window? I see that this was asked several times a decade ago, but I cannot find this answered since 2012 here, at which time the answer included "For 11.04 and earlier". I'm not asking for programs to be auto-started. I'm merely asking that, when I open Calculator, the window goes to the side where I want it instead of being right in the middle of the window I'm looking at. There was a lot of discussion about everyone wanting this, but that the app programmers held that was an OS issue and the system programmers held it was up to the app. It seems to me that we would want all programs to behave the same way, so it should be an OS function. If it is left to the developer then every program will do it differently. Did this ever get resolved?

This sounds like a feature request not something that is dealt with on this site.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
