Laptop struggles to return from SUSPEND mode

de flag

About one out of five times, my Dell Latitude 3540 is unable to start from suspend mode, which I invoke manually when I'm done using the computer. It will accept my password, and then just sits there. If I wait a minute or two, it shuts down and lets me try again. Or, it freezes up completely, including mouse and touchpad and I have to do a cold reboot by holding down the power button. This happens whether there were apps running or not (typically Firefox, maybe Signal). This morning, it asked to send an error report, so I saved the accompanying screen shots and I have not hit "Send" yet, in case it would help to expand some of the entries to share more info. This is version 20.04 LTS with all updates installed except for one which popped up today and is still waiting. Ubuntu was installed on a clean disk - not a dual boot situation. Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
