Cannot connect to OpenVPN or Wireguard after updating wifi driver

I think I have messed up my network driver and hence it has messed up OpenVPN and WireGuard installations.

My laptop gets disconnected pretty often from the Wifi, and it was driving me crazy. So I checked for a solution and somehow came up with this driver, I'm still not sure whether my network card really fits this model or not.

Anyway after installing this using the manual procedure, I cannot connect to Wireguard or OpenVPN anymore. I have tried uninstalling them both, and uninstalling the driver, but to no avail. I think there is a certain mismatch between the network adapter and openvpn? Maybe it's a bug in the kernel? This is the output of uname -r:

My OS is Kubutn 20.04 LTS.

Is there anyway to revert network adapter and all the network components to the initial settings?
